Insolvency Service report into Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) (25 October 2024)
On Thursday 17 October 2024, the Insolvency Service published its ‘Individual Voluntary Arrangements: Research into Concerns’ report. This report, which was commissioned in November 2023 by the Insolvency Service and carried out by RSM UK Creditor Solutions LLP, focused on concerns about the Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVA) process in the UK. It was commissioned after concerns were raised about the way IVAs were being offered to people who signed up to them .

Official Receiver Services launch a retender of the Special Manager Panel to support the OR on complex casework (22 October 2024)
The special manager panel is set up to provide the official receiver with a panel of firms with deep insolvency expertise who can be appointed as special managers under s177 of the Insolvency Act in highly complex or resource intensive compulsory liquidations. The Official Receiver is seeking applications from firms who can offer market-leading insolvency expertise and services to support him in the most complex and challenging compulsory liquidations at short notice. Please note the closing date for applications is 31 October 2024.

INSSight - New Templates and Guidance (UPDATED 9 October 2024)
The Insolvency Service will be introducing a new internal case management system called ‘INSSight’. As part of this change, IPs are to use new templates for 'Unclaimed Receipts', 'Cheque and BACs requisitions', 'IVA Registrations' and 'Bulk Transfers of cases'.

A temporary RPS policy for processing the claims of irregular hours and part-year workers (22 March 2024)
On 1 January 2024, the government introduced changes to the Working Time Regulations by introducing The Employment Rights (Amendment, Revocation and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2023. In particular, relating to the right to statutory paid holiday or annual leave for irregular hours workers and part-year workers for leave years beginning on or after 1 April 2024.

A new Case Management System for the Insolvency (8 February 2024)

First Review of the Insolvency (England and Wales) Rules 2016 (5 April 2022)
The Review has concluded that “the Rules as a whole are operating correctly and achieve the goals that were set for them”. It has further concluded that “the insolvency regime, taken as a whole, remains fit for purpose”.
