R3 is the trade association for the UK’s insolvency, restructuring, advisory, and turnaround professionals. We represent insolvency practitioners, lawyers, turnaround and restructuring experts, students, and others in the profession.
The Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group was formed in 2021 by the Insolvency Service and R3, its aim being to bring together those working within the insolvency field to discuss, understand, and take action to address barriers to inclusion and diversity within the sector. The Progress Report and Action Plan 2024/2025 sets out our key areas of focus for the year ahead.
R3's Insolvency fees and the cost of regulation: The detail behind the headlines report aims to address popular misconceptions and myths about insolvency fees. It explains how fees are linked to insolvency regulation, that fees can vary widely depending on case size and complexity, and why insolvency practitioners are often not paid in full for their work – work that helps to return money to creditors, tackle fraud and rescue jobs and businesses.
R3 is collaborating with the Insolvency Service on a joint project aimed at understanding and promoting diversity and inclusion across the profession. As part of this project, we carried out a survey of R3 members in the restructuring, insolvency and legal profession in order to gather data about the demographic breakdown of the profession.
R3's submission to HM Treasury ahead of the Autumn 2021 Budget, outlining our key recommendations to support business rescue and resolving corporate financial distress over the coming months.
R3's The Value of the Profession: How insolvency and restructuring supports the UK economy report sets out the number of jobs the profession saved, people and businesses it advised, and money it returned to creditors in 2019.
