HMRC has taken the decision to close all helplines across Debt Management’s (DM)’s EIS teams until further notice. This is due to take effect from Monday 25 January 2021.

HMRC has advised that a large number of DM staff have again been redeployed to HMRC’s COVID helplines and the small amount of remaining staff were spending a significant amount of time answering progress chasing calls, taking them away from working cases.  HMRC is hopeful that without phones to answer, staff will have more time to clear the backlog of work and deliver the service the profession needs. Our HMRC liaison officer will continue to monitor the situation and keep R3 updated.
