R3 launches Diversity and Inclusion Survey
29 June 2021
The insolvency and restructuring profession plays a fundamental role in the UK economy. Research we published earlier this year showed that, in 2019, the profession rescued 7,200 businesses, returning an estimated £1.82 billion to creditors and saving an estimated 297,000 jobs in the process. It has also helped over 60,000 businesses and 144,000 people by providing qualified advice about the insolvency and restructuring options available to them.
Although the profession’s importance to the wider economy is well established, we do not know quite as much about the people who work in it. This lack of data means the picture around the profession’s talent pool isn’t as clear as it could be and means we don’t understand if there any barriers to entering it.
So, as part of our work with the Insolvency Service to improve diversity and inclusion in the profession, we’re launching the R3 Diversity and Inclusion Survey – a survey of R3 members to identify diversity levels in insolvency and restructuring.
The survey, which launches today (29 June 2021), aims to analyse how diverse the profession currently is and, in doing so support the identification of any barriers to joining, progressing, or succeeding in insolvency and restructuring.
We hope it will provide an accurate picture of where those working in the profession come from, whether barriers to joining the profession do exist, and, ultimately, help to remove any obstacles to becoming part of it.
The R3 Diversity and Inclusion Survey will be open for responses between 29 June and 31 July 2021. If you have not received our email about it, please contact Giorgio Buttironi, R3’s Public Affairs Manager at [email protected]
