Amidst finalising plans for R3’s President’s Lunch, earning recognition in a new report from Spotlight on Corruption, and a trip to the Royal College of Physicians for this year’s Fraud Conference, the leap year’s extra day was a welcome bonus for R3’s External Affairs team in what proved to be another busy month.
As part of our joint project with the Insolvency Service to improve diversity and inclusion within the profession, we launched a survey of R3 members in June 2021 with the aim of mapping out just how diverse the insolvency and restructuring profession is. The survey gathered a sizeable response from R3’s members and generated some interesting insights about the make-up of the profession’s talent pool.
The insolvency and restructuring profession plays a fundamental role in the UK economy. Research we published earlier this year showed that, in 2019, the profession rescued 7,200 businesses, returning an estimated £1.82 billion to creditors and saving an estimated 297,000 jobs in the process. It has also helped over 60,000 businesses and 144,000 people by providing qualified advice about the insolvency and restructuring options available to them.
