Supporting future talent: the R3 Bursary Scheme

Supporting future talent: the R3 Bursary Scheme

16 October 2024

Today we are launching the R3 Bursary Scheme, which covers the costs for attendance at a number of our upcoming courses and events, including course costs (plus, travel and accommodation where necessary). We aspire for R3 to provide a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of demographic, or socioeconomic background. The Bursary is open to R3 members who self-define as having constraints to attend our courses or events, who would otherwise miss out on professional development opportunities in turnaround, insolvency and restructuring. The Bursary Scheme aims to ensure inclusion and diversity across R3 events.

Why ensuring diverse and inclusive attendance is important to R3

In the ever-evolving landscape of the turnaround, restructuring and insolvency profession, nurturing new talent is essential. At R3, we recognise that the future of our profession relies not only on experienced professionals, but also on the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas of New Professionals.

The R3 Bursary Scheme is designed to reduce barriers for anyone looking to enter the profession. We understand that financial constraints can often prevent talented individuals from pursuing a career in this vital field. By providing financial support through the R3 Bursary Scheme, we aim to make the path to becoming an insolvency professional more accessible to a diverse range of candidates.

Our approach goes beyond just financial assistance. The Bursary Scheme is tailored to support recipients in various aspects of their professional development. This includes mentoring opportunities, networking events, and access to training resources that equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the profession.

By fostering a community around the Bursary programme, we aim to create a supportive environment where participants can share their experiences, challenges, and successes. This sense of belonging is crucial for building confidence and resilience, which are essential traits for working within the profession.

How to apply

The Bursary Scheme is open to all fully paid-up members of R3. Membership fees must have been paid in full as at the date of the application.

We are currently accepting applications under the Bursary Scheme for the 2024 Personal Insolvency Forum and Restructuring Forum, and will be publishing a list of further events and training courses covered by it very soon.
