R3's Training Academy 6-month Anniversary: Building foundations for the future

R3's Training Academy 6-month Anniversary: Building foundations for the future

28 July 2021

Since its launch in January 2021, the vision for R3's Training Academy is to deliver a range of technical and practical courses. We’re building on R3’s 30-year history of delivering training for the profession by using innovative learning platforms to support career-long learning and supplement our in-person courses with online training.

The early phase of the Training Academy’s journey has focussed on training and networking opportunities for New Professionals and Mid-Career Professionals within Insolvency. More than 100 R3 members and associates have joined us as delegates on our many training courses, such as the Insolvency Bootcamp Series and the Introduction to Insolvency Virtual Classroom.

We have been delighted at the positive responses we've received from our course attendees and trainers – the latter of whom have been sharing their wealth of knowledge with new and mid-career professionals – and 100% of attendees have rated our Bootcamp and Introduction to Insolvency Series “good” to “excellent” and would recommend the Training Academy to their colleagues.

It’s been great to note that delegates have particularly enjoyed the interactive elements of the courses, and the chance to discuss and debate real-life case studies. Our Introduction to Insolvency eLearning Series has proved hugely popular – and is available on-demand for new members of staff, who gain an R3 principles-level certification on completion.

Looking ahead

We are dedicated to deliver exciting opportunities to educate and connect members of the profession and facilitate discussions on recent challenges – to help identify best practice solutions. Currently, we have courses in development that cover a range of topics – including personal and corporate insolvency, the increasing use of CVAs and the mechanics of pre-packs, as well as restructuring planning, and key tax issues; all of which are being developed in partnership with a range of experts from the profession.

In addition, we’re working on a 'Restructuring Bootcamp’ and an ‘Insolvency Bootcamp', which focus on practical skills development; as well as tax and compliance courses; and expert masterclasses, and we’re launching our new 'Restructuring Week' in September 2021. This online series of technical sessions will cover topical changes in restructuring and turnaround, such as post-Brexit UK schemes, overseas recognition, pension scheme restructuring, and much, much more.

I would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the Training Academy launch, including all our expert speakers and delegates who have contributed their time and efforts in joining us on this successful venture. We are excited to bring you the next round of training content and look forward to welcoming future delegates – both new, and those that are returning to study with us.
