Baglan Group of Companies – Power Supply to the Energy Park

In March 2021 winding up orders were made against the Baglan group of companies. The official receiver was appointed liquidator and special managers were appointed to assist the official receiver.

The Baglan companies owned and operated a gas turbine power station in South Wales, 12 km high pressure gas pipeline that crossed under a high-speed rail line and traffic routes (including the M4 motorway), and via a private wire network was the sole source of electricity to neighbouring businesses.

This was a complex and unique liquidation that presented a number of challenges. The webinar will discuss some of these challenges, including:

• The closure of an industrial site and disclaimer of onerous assets
• The power to carry on the business of a company in liquidation.
