New President at insolvency and restructuring trade body R3

Nicky Fisher, Partner at Herron Fisher, has been appointed President of R3, the insolvency and restructuring trade body.

As President, Fisher will work with R3’s CEO and senior management team to help shape and deliver R3’s strategy for the next 12 months, as well as supporting its day-to-day operations.

Nicky takes on the role amid an extremely challenging economic period where both businesses and individuals are facing difficult choices in response to rising costs. The role of the Insolvency and Restructuring Profession will be critical in saving business and jobs, and making returns to creditors. 

As President, her key priorities will be ensuring businesses and individuals understand the role and value of the work of the profession, ensuring R3 continues to give members and the profession a voice in the debate around the proposed changes to the insolvency regulatory framework and the personal insolvency framework, and continuing to drive R3’s work on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with the Insolvency Service.

Nicky Fisher said: “The reviews of the regulatory and personal insolvency frameworks will be the two key policy issues for the next two years and will have a serious effect on how the profession supports people and businesses in the medium and long-term future.

“I’m determined R3 will continue to ensure the profession’s views, concerns and insights are heard on these issues and others, that it continues to help directors and consumers understand the value of early advice and engagement with the profession, and that it continues its efforts to make the profession’s talent pool as broad and deep as possible.”
