Alison Morgan

Insolvency Manager, ICAEW

Alison has been working in ICAEW’s Quality Assurance Department since October 2011, and has conducted hundreds of insolvency monitoring visits.

She studied English and French Law at Leicester and Strasbourg Universities and subsequently started her insolvency career in 1997 in the Leicester office of KPMG LLP. 

She became an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 2000 and passed JIEB the following year.

After a brief spell in industry between 2007 and 2008, she became an appointment-taking IP for three years before joining ICAEW.

Despite being a licensed IP since 2008, Alison sat and came first in CPI in December 2015 and excelled in the ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency the same year. She is passionate about raising standards in the profession, and is delighted to be able to return to speaking in front of a live audience. 

She’s equally enthusiastic about cricket, and has enjoyed the women’s and men’s Ashes’ series this year, despite the results.

In February 2022, she published her fist pen-named non-fiction book, and is currently writing a potential sequel, and fiction book of short stories.
