Andrea Metz is Founding Partner at Barckhaus law firm, a boutique law firm founded in 2022 and based in Frankfurt, Germany. She is specialised in Restructuring / Insolvency and Distressed M&A and has more than 25 years of experience in advising national and international clients.

Andrea has been involved in some high-profile transactions in the German and European restructuring market, including important cases in cross-border insolvency law.

After her studies at Johannes Gutenberg university in Mainz and Université de Bourgogne (Dijon/France) Andrea Metz completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at the London School of Economics.

Before forming Barckhaus (together with five other partners), she was first junior and then senior legal counsel at German entertainment group Stella AG in Hamburg. From 1999 on she worked for two large law firms in Frankfurt/Germany.

For the duration of one year, Andrea Metz also worked at the German Legal Desk of EY / Donahue & Partners in New York.

Andrea speaks German as a native language and English and French fluently. She is also head of Barckhaus law firm’s French Desk.
