Lee Bruce - Insolvency Customer Service Manager at HMRC
Lee joined the former HM Customs & Excise in 1988, initially working at Heathrow Airport, before moving into VAT compliance work, and from there on to Debt Management and Civil Recovery. In 2005, when HMC&E merged with the Inland Revenue, Lee became the first HMRC person to pass the CPI.
Working in the former Specialist Investigations, Lee focussed on asset recovery, and undertook a period of secondment to a Top 4 firm to gain a better understanding of the role of the insolvency profession, and later undertook the JIEB exams.
Lee has also worked in Business Tax & Customs and while there focussed on the Customer Service approach to working with the profession. She was appointed to the HMRC role of Insolvency Customer Service Manager in 2018, and works closely with R3, ICAEW, ICAS & IPA on an ongoing basis to improve engagement and the customer journey for the Insolvency Profession.
