Alistair has specialised in insolvency law since Michael Chamberlain is one of the leading independent insolvency practitioners in the UK. He has established a national practice which is well regarded in the world of insolvency, business recovery and turnaround.

A graduate economist from Sheffield University, Michael qualified as a Chartered Accountant (1989) during his 5 years with the UK’s largest professional services firm and global giant, PwC. Post qualification, Michael specialised in insolvency and corporate recovery and obtained his licence as an Insolvency Practitioner (1994) during his 6 years working, as a senior manager within the Restructuring practice of E&Y, another global professional services firm.

Michael is a fellow member of ICAEW with extensive (over 25 years) experience advising lenders, corporates, distressed investors and individuals in complex financial restructuring and recovery situations across a broad range of industry sectors and jurisdictions.

Michael’s experience includes:

– Advising on and helping owners implement business turnaround, performance improvement, restructuring and recovery plans

– Advising and supporting accelerated mergers, acquisitions and disposals

– Accepting formal insolvency appointments as Administrator, Administrative Receiver, Law of Property Act Receiver, Liquidator, Trustee, Receiver and Supervisor of both corporate and individual voluntary arrangements
