Restructuring and insolvency expert, having been personally appointed on iconic assignments such as Lehman, Parmalat & Enron; leads the PwC deals arena in Retail, Consumer and Leisure and Global distressed crisis management. Led the successful disposal of the Game business out of administration, prior to IPO. Advises pension interests on Nortel global. Administrator of Manganese, Q Hotels and Barracuda. Mike led the sale of the insolvent Lehmans UK equity and prime brokerage business to Nomura in October 2008, less than two weeks after his appointment. He managed the repatriation of $800m from the Lehman Chinese QFII.
 
In November 2013 he completed the sale of the Russian oil and gas based assets of VOSTOK plc. VOSTOK had a licence to extract oil and gas from an area called Saratov in South West Russia, covering 3,000 square miles. In April 2014 Mike led the sale of the assets of Albemarle and Bond PLC, the UK's second largest pawnbroker and in july La Senza Uk. A&B was voted most successful sale at the October 14 nationwide UK insolvency awards.
 
His recent advisory cases include (1) refinancing of a listed UK retailer, an audit client of PwC, (2) lead advisor on a listed Uk retailer (now taken private) (3) advice on a large property problem for a non UK lender, sold for c£250m in a solvent sale (4) Lead advisory role for shareholders of a high profile integrated UK based airline and travel group (5) expert person role for a UK FIn Services regulator, (6) buy side advice on a carve out from a listed UK retailer, (7) directors advice to multi-billion integrated oil and gas group, (8) advice to Resolution Directorate of Bank of England on several occasions.
 
Mike's recent presentations include Prepackaged administration- the UK experience (Dutch insolvency practitioners, Amsterdam,) Distressed Debt Forum, Distressed Financial Institutions examining the failures of banks) the Future of retail (industry Roundtable), the British Property Federation on the subject of pre-packs, & debated the issue at the Insolvency Lawyers Assoc annual conference.
