Chris Herron

Chris is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner with nearly 30 years’ experience dealing with a range of different businesses with turnovers varying from tens of thousands of pounds to a hundred million.

Chris trained with the Insolvency Service, moving into private practice with Baker Tilly in the late eighties and then on to management roles with BDO Binder Hamlyn and Robson Rhodes. In 1993 he joined a smaller practice, Neville Eckley, before becoming a partner in Levy Gee in 1998. In 2006 Chris established his own firm with Nicky Fisher forming Herron Fisher.

Chris's assignments have included the liquidations of Meccano Toys Ltd and the largest illegal bank ever wound up by the Bank of England. He also dealt with the insolvencies of the companies that owned TV Comic and the classic Spectrum based video game Manic Miner and he has liquidated an entire village as part of a solvent restructuring. Chris has handled most of his interesting cases whilst at smaller firms and he is a strong believer in the strength and depth of service that can be provided by the smaller IP.

Chris is a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.

Outside of work, Chris is the Secretary of the Croydon Dining Club and a Sabreur in the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or.
