Message from The Insolvency Service

As a result of government instructions to stay at home we have changed the way we deliver our services.

All Insolvency Service offices are closed and we are committed to continuing to provide our services remotely. Staff are working from home.

As a result there are some changes to the way we deliver our services.

Our Redundancy Payments Services (RPS) helpline and the Insolvency Enquiry Line are closed. These helplines are not able to be operated remotely so you cannot ring either number. We are proving an email service for both lines:

  • if you need to contact an Official Receiver please email the office that is managing your case. A directory of email addresses is available on our website
  • if you want to ask the Insolvency Enquiry Line ask about processes administered or regulated by the Insolvency Service (e.g. bankruptcies, debt relief orders and liquidations) you can use our online form to submit your enquiry and we will respond to you
  • if you have an enquiry about redundancy payments you can consult our online redundancy guidance which contains information about frequently asked questions. If the guidance does not answer your questions you can contact us by email
  • if you have a question about a Debt Relief Order you can contact us by email

We are aiming to deal with emails promptly, but please bear with us as we expect the closure of offices to result in an increase in messages requiring a response.

Please note that while our offices are closed we will not be able to process any physical mail sent to us.

 

There is further guidance on our website about how the Official Receiver is reorganising our services during the pandemic, contacting specialist teams in the Redundancy Payments Service and the Long Terms Assets Distribution Teams and information about support for businesses. Our website will be kept up-to-date with information about any changes to the availability of our services.
