Gabrielle Ruiz

Gabrielle is a Senior Professional Support Lawyer in the London Finance practice of Clifford Chance LLP. She has worked within the Restructuring & Insolvency Group for 18 years. Gabrielle has a broad range of experience acting for banks, debtors, sponsors and insolvency officeholders in the context of domestic and cross border restructurings and formal insolvencies.

Gabrielle's recent experience includes advising the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia on insolvency and restructuring reform. She has also advised the LMA in relation to proposals for the harmonisation of European insolvency and restructuring reforms.

Gabrielle is the editor for the Clifford Chance publications “Cross Border Financing Guide”; “European Restructuring and Insolvency Procedures Guide; and “A Guide to Asia Pacific Restructuring and Insolvency Procedures”. In addition she is the co-author of the chapter "Compromising Shareholder Claims both generally and in listed companies" in The Law and Practice of Restructuring in the UK and US, and also a chapter “Winding Up” in Private Equity Exits. Gabrielle is also contributing to an upcoming publication for the Dubai Economic Council "Global Insolvency and Bankruptcy Practice for sustainable economic development". She regularly writes articles on insolvency-related topics in restructuring and insolvency and finance and banking journals. Gabrielle is a frequent lecturer on the subject of insolvency and restructuring, including for the LMA and LSTA. She is a member of the Insolvency Lawyers' Association, technical committee.
