Tony Cochrane is a VAT specialist with 20 years’ experience. For the last 12 years, Tony has had a deep interest in VAT on insolvency cases and restructuring projects. He has extensive experience supporting IPs with VAT compliance obligations and guiding IPs on how to manage complex VAT issues. Tony currently works at VITA – VAT & Indirect Tax Advisors, where he leads the firm’s VAT on insolvency and restructuring support offering. Tony started his VAT career at HMRC before moving into practice where he worked for Big 4 and large national accountancy firms. He is an exam qualified Associate of the Institute of Indirect Taxation and a Chartered Tax Adviser. Tony is a member of the ICAS Indirect Tax Committee member and a regular presenter at ICAS events, including the Insolvency & Restructuring Conference. He is also a regular contributor to mainstream press and tax industry publications.
