Lee is the head of the London team Corporate Restructuring & Advisory department at Shoosmiths. He acts for insolvency practitioners, banks, asset-based lenders, stakeholders and company directors on all matters in relation to distressed lending, corporate recovery and corporate insolvency. Lee’s practice covers a broad range of formal and informal corporate restructuring and insolvency matters. He regularly acts for lenders, creditors, insolvency practitioners, corporates and directors. He advises on all types of restructuring situations, accelerated M&A and formal corporate insolvency procedures (administration, liquidation and receivership). Lee has particular expertise in the retail sector having advised in connection with the insolvencies of Wilko, Jaeger, Monsoon Accessorize Limited, La Perla. Harveys and Bensons for Beds, Cath Kidston and TM Lewin. In addition, Lee also has expertise in the financial services sector advising the special administrators of SOVA Capital Ltd on the creation of “an unsecured credit bid” model and the peer to peer lending market having been part of the wider team advising the administrators of Lendy Limited (and its associated company Saving Stream Security Holdings Limited) and on the CVA of Wellesley Finance Plc. Most recently, Lee has been actively involved on a number of midmarket restructuring plans including Fitness First and Superdry. He was also involved with the restructuring plans relating to Tasty PLC and the Great Annual Savings Company and advising certain creditors on the Cineworld restructuring plan.
