Aziz specialises in contentious insolvency and restructuring and leads the firm’s Insolvency Dispute Resolution offering in London. He advises a broad client base that includes insolvency practitioners, directors, secured and unsecured creditors, shareholders, financial institutions and companies facing financial distress. Aziz has extensive experience across administrations, liquidations, bankruptcies and restructuring processes, often with a cross-border dimension, and is particularly well regarded for his strategic approach to complex and high-stakes disputes. His practice spans the full range of insolvency-related litigation, including claims brought by and against officeholders, fraud and asset recovery actions, antecedent transactions and misfeasance claims. On the restructuring side, Aziz advises on in-court restructuring options and directors’ duties in distressed situations, helping clients navigate critical decision-making. He is a member of R3 and holds the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency. Recent notable matters include advising investment funds on novel insolvency strategies, acting for officeholders in contested liquidation proceedings, representing financial institutions and directors in high-value disputes, and advising on complex administrations and schemes of arrangement, including the Doncasters Dundee Holdco administration and pre-pack sale.
