Andy GraySenior Risk Consultant, Marsh, Glasgow Responsible for delivering a broad range of property risk control and operational risk management consultancy services, working with clients to assist them with their loss prevention activities and supporting placement of their insurance programmes. Andy joined Marsh in 2024 following almost five years working for an insurer within their risk engineering team, undertaking both property and casualty risk site surveys and client account management. In addition, Andy has worked with numerous SMEs, large corporates, local authorities, and housing associations on a variety of risk management initiatives during this time. He has previously worked in risk management roles for an accountancy firm and a water utility provider. Prior to this Andy spent 15 years as a qualified plumbing and heating engineer in the construction sector which included domestic projects such as renovation programmes of kitchens and bathrooms, gas central heating installations, general repairs and servicing as well as working on new build school projects. Andy’s work in the construction space has included time in both the public and private sector, and he has also worked on construction sites overseas in Australia. Andy’s background affords understanding of health and safety requirements expected on site as well as the daily dynamics which can impact project success. Further to his degree in risk management, Andy is Cert CII, TechIOSH and SIRM certified. Earlier this year, Andy has taken up voluntary roles with the Professional Development Group Committee for the Insurance and Actuarial Society of Glasgow, and the position of Chair of the Institute of Risk Management’s Scottish Regional Group.
