The R3 Practical Introduction to Insolvency Work Series provides essential training to ensure your junior staff are developing their core skills for the benefit of your Practice. Unique to the R3 programme of events, this series draws on the knowledge and experience of speakers from the top of the profession who are working with the latest legislation and the most recent cases. Delegates will learn by application as they are guided through real life case studies and interactive exercises. Each day will provide context and a greater depth of understanding of how insolvency practices and processes can be applied in the work place.

The series are supported by detailed course notes and podcasts outlining the technical framework for each type of insolvency procedure.

Series overview:

Day one focusses solely on personal insolvency topics including the approval process for an IVA with/without modifications, practical investigation techniques including digital forensics and social media investigations, the realisation of the matrimonial home, pensions and antecedent transactions.

Day two will provide an understanding of the key fundamentals of rescue procedures, looking at the pitfalls of the administration appointment process, CVAs, the mechanics of pre-packaged sales, SIP16 disclosure, post appointment trading and the sale of the of the business and assets.

Days three and four will examine liquidations in detail both solvent and insolvent. This will include the preparation of the Statement of Affairs, practical points of investigations and interviewing directors, the complex area of Partnership insolvency including administration, liquidation and bankruptcy processes.

Day five will cover the technical and challenging area of tax, focussing on V AT/PAYE & NIC compliance, basic corporation tax computations, TUPE, submitting ERA claims and the sensitivities of making staff redundant.
