The London and South East region would like welcome you to their first event of 2020 at the offices of Edwin Coe LLP on Monday 10th February presented by Jon Colclough of New Square Chambers, who specialises in insolvency and company matters.

The seminar will focus on tax avoidance schemes, the HMRC Loan Charge and its impact on both directors’ liability and insolvencies in general. Jon Colclough on the session: “Tax avoidance schemes have come sharply into focus, with an increasing number of liquidators applying for compensation or damages against directors of insolvent companies.Employee benefit schemes and employer-financed retirement benefit schemes have been considered ineffective by HMRC for avoiding PAYE and, accordingly, considered tax avoidance schemes which ought to be unravelled. The HMRC Loan Charge is also impacting on both directors’ liability and insolvencies in general”.
