What to Expect

R3 Midlands is holding its next quarterly meeting at Alvarez & Marsal’s Birmingham offices.

The evening includes an hour of CPD, an R3 update, two technical sessions, and time to network with colleagues across the profession.

One session revisits the key principles governing directors’ behaviour in distress scenarios, including the BHS decision, its wider impact on duties, and how those principles apply in common real-world situations.

A second session examines Noal SCSp v Novalpina Capital and its implications for Members’ Voluntary Liquidations, including the High Court’s interpretation of the 12-month rule under the Insolvency Act 1986, the treatment of contingent debts, and the risk of automatic conversion to CVL.

The event concludes with networking over drinks and nibbles.
