What to Expect
The R3 Eastern Committee invites colleagues from across the Eastern Region to an inclusive cycle ride for all abilities, based at The Four Horseshoes in Thornham Magna and set against the Suffolk countryside.
Participants can choose between a more challenging 40-mile route and a shorter, gentler ride, with both groups stopping at The Angel Cafe in Diss before returning to The Four Horseshoes later in the day.
Non-cyclists are also welcome to join for the afternoon meal, offering a chance to catch up with friends and colleagues while remembering Paul Pittman and raising money for a local charity.
The event supports St Elizabeth Hospice, which cared for Paul Pittman. A vegetarian option will be available with the meal.
Schedule
- 10:00Arrival refreshments — Arrival at The Four Horseshoes for coffee and bacon rolls.
- 11:0040-mile ride departs — The longer cycling route departs for a 40-mile ride through the Suffolk countryside.
- 12:30Gentle ride departs — The shorter, more leisurely cycling group departs for a 45-minute ride to the cafe.
- 15:00Cafe stop and return — Riders return via The Angel Cafe in Diss before heading back to The Four Horseshoes.
- 15:00Non-cyclists arrive — Non-cyclists are welcome to join from 15:00 for the meal and afternoon gathering.
- 16:00Meal served — A meal is served at The Four Horseshoes, with a vegetarian option available.
