Julian Cahn acts for insolvency practitioners, creditors, debtors, directors, and all other stakeholders in the insolvency process, with a focus on court driven and contentious insolvency matters.

Julian's personal insolvency practice revolves around advising in relation to insolvent individuals with multi-million pound debts and global assets. Recent mandates including acting for the Trustees in Bankruptcy of: Boris Becker; the oligarch Georgy Trefilov; and the current Welsh men's football team manager Craig Bellamy.

On the corporate insolvency side Julian's retainers include acting for: the Liquidators of Rangers Football Club; Receivers appointed by the Court following an application made by a judgment creditor owed cUS$380million; and the Liquidators of the collapsed public relations firm Bell Pottinger. 

Julian is individually ranked by Chambers & Partners 2025 as Tier 1 for personal insolvency and was amongst a handful of practitioners individually spotlighted in Chambers & Partners 2025's new "Restructuring & Insolvency: Disputes" category.  He is a member of R3's General Technical Committee.
