Michael is a partner in the finance team of the firm’s Amsterdam office and focuses on restructuring and insolvency matters and related litigation.?
He advises on both domestic and international finance and corporate restructuring transactions and insolvency?matters, often involving litigation on such issues as recognition of foreign insolvency procedures, director liability, security enforcement and fraudulent conveyance issues.
Some of Michael’s recent experience includes:
• Acting as restructuring expert in the groundbreaking WHOA of McDermott;
• Advising the restructuring expert in relation to the so-called Gym-case WHOA;
• Advising HAL Investments on the acquisition of IQIP and the financial restructuring of Royal IHC through the WHOA;
• Advising RNHB, a Dutch buy-to-let platform controlled by a global alternative asset manager, on a debt buy back transaction with the bankruptcy estate of Amsterdam Trade Bank (ATB);
• Representing certain creditors/lenders in relation to the restructuring and ultimately the bankruptcy of Royal Imtech;
• Acting for the security agent and the lender in relation to the enforcement sale of the Intertoys business;
• Advising CWT group on their recapitalization plan;
