James is one of the founding partners of HNH and leads the Business Advisory Services division, overseeing Business Restructuring, Forensic Accounting and Business Intelligence.  HNH is a multi-disciplinary financial advisory firm with offices in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

James has spent over 18 years working in the restructuring and advisory profession throughout the UK and Ireland. He has a detailed understanding of the different requirements of companies, lenders and investors and regularly advising stakeholders on all aspects of restructuring and advisory.

James has extensive experience across both public and private sectors, being involved in a large range of project based business recovery and corporate finance work and provides strategic advice to both lending institutions and equity stakeholders. He also specialises in debt advisory assignments and has wide experience advising on multi bank and syndicate debt restructurings.

As a qualified Insolvency Practitioner, James leads a number of formal Administration, Receivership, Bankruptcy, and Liquidation appointments and has worked on some of the most complex corporate restructures in Northern Ireland.  

James also has particular specialisms in forensic accounting and financial investigations and has provided expert witness testimony in a variety of litigation scenarios. He has also acted for a number of large financial institutions in the recovery of assets.

James is a licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Chartered Accountant and Accredited Expert Witness. He is the current NI Regional chair of R3 the association of business recovery professionals and is also an active member of both the Insolvency Practitioners Association and the Chartered Institute of Accountants in Ireland.
