Paul Barber - Partner, Begbies Traynor

Paul is a Partner in Begbies Traynor’s Manchester office. A Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with an MBA degree, he joined the firm in 2009. Prior to this he worked at Dawson White, the IVA provider for an OFT-approved debt management company. He also spent 11 years at Baker Tilly, chartered accountants, dealing with all aspects of business recovery and insolvency.

Paul completed his master’s degree in 1998, qualified as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 2003, and has extensive experience of all insolvency procedures, as well as a property background based on his RICS-accredited BSc Land Management degree.

Paul has experience across a broad range of industries, including motor retail, manufacturing, property and the care sector, and, more recently, has been dealing with more highly complex personal insolvency cases, including deceased estates.

In January 2017, Paul was appointed Chair of the R3 North West committee, for a three-year term, and is a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA).
