Stewart Perry - Partner, Fieldfisher's insolvency and restructuring practice and Chairman of R3’s General Technical Committee

Stewart primarily acts for insolvency practitioners, various categories of financier, distressed companies and their directors.  His experience covers the full range of insolvency work, from purchases and sales in trading insolvencies to multinational multimillion pound frauds. By way of example, he acted for the administrators of Redx Pharma Plc, an AIM listed pharma company, in a ground-breaking corporate rescue in which Redx was returned from administration to the control of its directors and its shares were re-listed on AIM. Redx operated in the highly specialised pharmaceuticals sector and traded whilst in administration, raising a number of complex issues which were highly unusual in the context of an administration.  Eventually the joint administrators sold patents to a US pharmaceuticals company for US$40 million enabling the rescue.  He has also acted for administrators of a company in obtaining judgment against more than 20 parties including off shore corporates (the largest being for over £75 million), committed the director behind the fraud to prison for the maximum sentence of two years for contempt of court and recovered real estate and other assets worth approximately £40 million by legal process over a number of jurisdictions, including obtaining the Court of Appeal decision concerning a non-executive directors' duties.
