R3 are excited to announce the next Personal Insolvency Forum, taking place in Manchester on 27 February 2025! This one-day forum will cover the key issues that insolvency practitioners face, providing practical insights and technical updates on the everyday challenges within personal insolvency cases.

Our aim for this Forum is to provide you with an opportunity to engage with these key policy matters within the personal insolvency sector. The Forum offers lots of networking opportunities for you to build new connections and catch up with previous acquaintances – including our networking drinks reception at the end of what should be an engaging and informative day.

Complex IVAs for businesses and professionals

Self employed contribute significantly to the UK’s economy, up from £305BN in 2019 to £331BN in 2023. SME’s account for 99.9% of the business population (some 5.6M businesses). But its tough with huge uncertainty over income, increasing costs and lenders always insisting on personal guarantees. It’s vital our rescue culture can help these people when they get into difficulty. Approval of Complex IVA’s as a percentage of total IVA’s approved is only around 4 to 7%.  Let’s take a look at the challenges IP’s face with taking on these type of cases and what improvements can be made.
