This sector had already faced significant disruption over the last few years but finding itself at the heart of the Covid-19 crisis is likely to lead many more operators to some challenging restructuring decisions. Whether this is an acceleration of what many saw as the natural evolution in the sector or whether this is more akin to an apocalypse event waits to be seen.

The event will be hosted by Tim Bateson, KPMG Director and R3 Midlands Chair, Eddie Williams. They will be joined by the following guest speakers Paul Martin, KPMG’s UK Head of Retail and member of the Retail Think Tank and Peter Crompton, Associate Director at KPMG specialising in the development of CVAs and member of the British Property Federation’s insolvency committee.

Paul Martin’s update on the key sector trends that have been experienced since the Covid-19 lockdown and what he sees as the key topics being currently discussed around board room tables.

Peter Crompton provides an outlook on the retail, leisure and hospitality CVA and how he expects this process to develop over the coming months along with the likely reaction of high street landlords with a question and answer panel session to follow.
