Outline:
The return of HMRC preferential status happens on 1 December and we are told there will be no further deferral! Do you know what to expect? Are you, your firm and your clients ready for this major change to the restructuring, insolvency – and lending - landscape? We have four experts from different wings of the profession who have been involved in the consultations with government, ready to share their views on this challenging legislation, in a panel discussion format. They are all well placed to answer some of the big questions arising to help you be ready to advise struggling businesses facing acute difficulties in what now looks likely to be the continuing pandemic.
This timely webinar will consider exactly what is involved in the return of HMRC preferential status for many taxes and how IPs should approach their advisory role when looking at restructuring and insolvency options for struggling companies, including under the latest insolvency legislation, and how to manage the often competing interests of stakeholders whether HMRC or secured lenders, directors, employees, landlords as well as general trade and other unsecured creditors.
Will CVAs be a viable option and be supported if most of the assets are prioritised for HMRC leaving the general body of creditors largely ‘out of the money’? What about disguised remuneration on the back of the Implement decision? What about the COVID deferred VAT liability up to June 2020 due for payment by the end of March 2021? Where are we with TTP? These and other issues will be explored by our panel of experts drawn from the profession.
