Mark Patterson

Mark Patterson is an Associate Director in AlixPartners’ Turnaround & Restructuring Services practice and is based in London. He joined the firm in 2015 from Zolfo Cooper Europe. Mark is a chartered accountant and holds the Joint Insolvency Examinations Board qualification and has nearly fifteen years' experience of insolvency, corporate restructuring and advisory work, working primarily in the mid-market. He has developed a broad range of corporate recovery, insolvency and advisory skills and specialises in advising distressed companies to identify and evaluate their strategic and optimal recovery options.

In September 2014 Mark completed a 15 month secondment to the commercial real estate team of a UK clearing bank during which he worked across the UK and with a broad range of connections, which included performing, underperforming and non-performing loans.

Recent experience has included:

  • Leading the administration of a property holding company with 3 locations across the UK, with total debt of approximately £5 million;
  • Reviewing the property portfolios of two national retailers to advise on the options available to rationalise store numbers and improve trading performance;
  • Worked on the administration of the Clinton’s Group, leading the trading team prior to the sale of approximately 400 of the stores; and
  • Advising the primary creditor and shareholder of a regional airport on the strategic options available to them. Total debt was approximately £25 million.
