Jamie Leader
Jamie is a partner at Eversheds. He specialises in restructuring and insolvency, in particular, financial services restructuring, cross-border insolvency and fraud.
Recent experience includes:
- Advising the administrators of Lehman Brothers Bankhaus in relation to cross-border litigation regarding multi-billion dollar client money and antecedent transaction claims.
- Acting for a liquidator on cross-border recognition, investigation and litigation in relation to a significant fraud.
- Advising the largest landlord of the Southern Cross care homes group on the restructuring of Southern Cross.
- Advising an investment bank in relation to priority disputes in a £1bn securitisation structure.
- Numerous complex claims and transactions in relation to the administration of Lehman Brothers and MF Global.
- The liquidation of a fund management company under the law of the Dubai International Financial Centre (the first ever insolvency under that law).
In 2014, he was credited as one of Financial News' "40 under 40" brightest and up-and-coming lawyers in Europe. The legal guide Legal 500 acknowledged Jamie as "very approachable" and "technically superb" whilst Chambers & Partners described him as "very bright, user-friendly and someone who provides excellent support in time-critical situations".
Jamie is also a member of the Law Society's Insolvency Law Sub-Committee.
