Reinhard Dammann founded the Dammann law firm in May 2020, after twelve years with Clifford Chance as head of the restructuring practice of the Paris office. Reinhard’s area of expertise is French insolvency law, with a particular emphasis on international and cross-border insolvency and restructuring cases (Eurotunnel, Nortel, Saur, Casino, Areva, Comexposium, Agrokor, Deutsche Gasfaser etc.). Reinhard is a member of the Committee of Experts to the European Commission for the recast Insolvency Regulation No. 2015/848, the Insolvency and Restructuring Directive No. 2019/1023 of June 20, 2019, and last harmonization Directive to be finalized in 2026 Reinhard is advising the World Bank on insolvency reforms in Egypt, Ethiopia, Vietnam. He drafted the new insolvency law of Ethiopia. Since 2009 Reinhard represents the Foundation for Continental Law at the United Nations UNCITRAL Working Group V sessions in New York and Vienna on the drafting of model laws on cross-border insolvency proceedings. At the session that took place in December 2022, Reinhard Dammann acted on behalf of the French Republic.
