R3 Awards
Awarded annually, the R3 Awards celebrate individual excellence from R3 members across the UK. They recognise contributions to the restructuring, turnaround and insolvency profession overall, and to the work of R3.
R3 President’s Award
The President’s Award honours members who have made significant contributions to advancing R3 and/or the restructuring, turnaround and insolvency profession through setting new standards of excellence.
All R3 members are eligible for nomination.
The winner of this award will also receive an invitation for themselves and a guest to attend the R3 Business Lunch on 2 October 2026 for the prizegiving.

2025 winner: James Martin (In memoriam)
A former R3 Council member and chair of the R3 Midlands regional committee, James was widely recognised throughout the professional community as a driver of positive change and someone who consistently demonstrated the very best of the profession. James’ son Nick collected the award on his father’s behalf at the R3 Business Lunch 2025.
R3 Young Professionals Award

This award recognises young professionals driving the future of the restructuring, turnaround and insolvency profession.
For R3 members under the age of 40 at the time of nomination.
The winner of this award will also receive an invitation for themselves and a guest to attend the R3 Business Lunch on 2 October 2026 for the prizegiving.

2025 winner: Charlotte Boatman
The 2025 Vice President’s Young Professionals Award is awarded to Charlotte Boatman for her stewardship and representation of the R3 new professional community. Charlotte was chair of the New Professional Steering Group from 2023-2025 and represented the interests of younger members on R3 Council.
R3 Special Situations Award – M&A Deal of the Year

New for 2026, this award showcases an exceptional special situations M&A deal delivered across the year (since April 2025). It focuses on the merit and impact of the transaction itself and celebrates technical excellence, sound judgement and stakeholder outcomes.
An R3 member must have been involved with the deal in order validate the nomination.
The lead IP referenced in the winning nomination will also receive an invitation for themselves and a guest to attend the R3 Business Lunch on 2 October 2026 for the prizegiving.

The Richard Turton Award
2026 applications have now closed.
R3 is proud to be a partner in the Richard Turton Award, which provides an opportunity for an insolvency and restructuring professional aged 35 or under from a developing nation to publish a paper on an issue relating to the profession, and present it at INSOL Europe Congress as a guest of the associations.
The award is presented in memory of Richard Turton, an insolvency practitioner who played a key role in the formation of R3, INSOL, INSOL Europe and the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association, in recognition of his contribution to the profession and his role in the creation of the associations.
We invite applications from any person who:
- Is a national of a developing or emerging market country
- Works in or studies in the field of insolvency and restructuring law and practice*
- Is under 35 years of age
*Students satisfying the nationality requirement, but studying in another country, are also eligible to apply
The successful applicant will:
- Be invited to attend the INSOL Europe Congress, all expenses paid
- Write a paper of 3,000 words on a subject of insolvency and turnaround agreed with the panel. This paper will be published in summary in one or more of the four member associations’ journals and in full on their websites
- Be recognised at the congress and receive a framed certificate of the Richard Turton Award

2026 winner: Jeniffer Gomes da Silva
The winner of the 2026 Richard Turton award is Jeniffer Gomes da Silva from Albania. Jeniffer is a Partner at Galdino Advogados, one of Brazil’s leading insolvency and restructuring law firms
Jeniffer’s will be writing a paper entitled “Beyond Investment: The Functional Role of Investment Funds in Corporate Reorganization“. Her paper will explore the growing use of investment funds as restructuring tools within judicial reorganisation proceedings, examining how they are being used to facilitate corporate rescue strategies, manage creditor claims, and support innovative restructuring solutions.
Jeniffer is also invited to attend the INSOL Europe Congress in Vilamoura, Portugal on 15-18 October 2026.
