Ian Seeley

Role
Construction Partner
Firm
Ellisons Solicitors

Ian is a solicitor and Partner at Ellisons Solicitors and heads up the firm’s Construction & Regulatory Law team. Ian has 18 years’ experience as a construction law specialist; and 30 years’ experience of regulatory law through his previous experience as a public sector lawyer. Ian advises and represents developers, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants across the construction industry on the full range of contentious and non-contentious matters. Ian regularly works with Ellisons’ specialist insolvency law team to advise and represent insolvency professionals and company directors on the issues and claims which arise in construction sector insolvencies. Ian has extensive experience of pursuing and defending a wide range of construction claims through adjudication, litigation, arbitration and all major forms of ADR; but his preference is always to work alongside clients as a trusted advisor, giving early, commercially-focussed, advice to try and resolve issues before they get worse. Ian is a member of the Society of Construction Law and a co-opted member of the Suffolk Joint Construction Committee, a cross-disciplinary, built environment forum seeking to promote the interests of the Suffolk construction sector locally, regionally and nationally.
