Keith is a barrister at the Bar of Ireland and the Bar of Northern Ireland, specialising in insolvency (both corporate and personal), bankruptcy and banking/debt related matters. Keith has acted in all of the leading cases (High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court) on Irish personal insolvency law, including the only two Supreme Court decisions to date. Keith has also acted in a number of the leading corporate insolvency (liquidation and examinership) cases, including the recently introduced SCARP (Small Company Administrative Rescue Process) regime. Keith has also acted in windup/liquidation cases in Northern Ireland, and advised on Individual Voluntary Arrangements and cross border debt recovery and insolvency recognition matters. Keith is the author of the “Consolidated Bankruptcy and Personal Insolvency Legislation”, published by Thomson Reuters Round Hall, and lectures in the Law Society of Ireland and the National College of Ireland on their Personal Insolvency (PIP) and Bankruptcy Law courses. Keith briefed the Troika (European Commission, International Monetary Fund, and European Central Bank) on Irish insolvency law and mortgage arrears during their review following Ireland's exit from the Bailout, and briefed the Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform of Dáil Éireann (Irish Government) prior to their hearings on "Matters Relating to Mortgage Arrears Resolution Processes". Keith has to date advised a number of European Governments on their insolvency and bankruptcy law reforms.
