James Simpson is a Director in Lazard’s Restructuring & Liability Management team in London. He joined the firm in 2015 and joined the London team in 2020. James previously worked for Lazard in the Restructuring & Liability Management team in New York and Australia, in the London Restructuring teams of Houlihan Lokey and Allen & Overy, and in the Debt Solutions team of Gresham Partners in Australia. James has experience in a wide range of liability management and financial restructuring transactions, advising companies and creditor groups in financial distress and special situations, including amend-and-extend transactions, debt exchange offers, debt-for-equity exchanges, capital raises and recapitalizations. James holds a BCom (Corp. Fin.) and LLB with Honours from the University of Adelaide and an MBA with Distinction from the University of Oxford.
